Working platform for CCM transported
On the 7th of december 2009 the working platform for the working platform for the CCM, specially designed and build for Corus IJmuiden (OXYsteellmill 2), has been transported. To be transported over the road, the machine had to be dismounted partially to reduce the width of the total machine. The two heavy overhead cranes on our recently expanded workshop made this job very easy. Under accompaniment of support vehicles the machien was transported and delivered at OXT steelmill 2 in gopod order. On site the different parts of the machine were directly reassembled untill the machine was complete once more.
The working platform for CCM provides a safe and efficient manner to carry out activities on the installations in the pit of the CCM of OXY steel mill number 2. Maintenance personnel kan be lowered down on the platform and by driving many of the required position in the cavity can be reached. This makes it unnecessary that personnel clims over existing (hot an dangerous) installations to perform maintenance activities.
To be fully self supporting the working platform is equipped with its own diesel engine. The hydraulic installation provides power for the wheel drive and lifting mechanism. Because of the scissor mechanism, the platform is very stable in all positions. For extra working range, the platform is equipped two extendable platforms.
The working platform has a relative high loading capacity, and is very stable. Therefore the concept of the working platform can be used in other industries also. Examples of other industries are marine, offshore, energy, petrochemistry and nuclear industry.
